As we sit and wait for the third wave or, if not a third wave, the vaccination roll-out, please let’s not become complacent. Keep on wearing your masks, keep on hand washing and sanitising, keep on physical distancing and keep on being careful.
Kenton and surrounding areas have done so well over the past year; we really don’t need to regress now! A gentle reminder to anyone not complying may be all it takes to get them back on track.
We have had very few cases of COVID in our area over the past few weeks. Those who have been infected have been monitored by our track and trace team, and most patients are compliant and fully aware of their responsibility to the community at large.
Coastal Kindness offers acts of kindness in other ways too:
Our pharmacy pick-up service collects meds on a daily basis and home delivers to those who find it difficult to get out
We assist local doctors and clinics by purchasing medical supplies and equipment as required
We offer daily telephone calls of support and encouragement to the lonely
We run a mental health support group and offer one-on-one counselling
We make meals for the sick as needed
We offer home carers as and when we can
It continues to be a priority for us to assist our medics as required – when they need help, we jump to it, as best we can.
Hopefully, when the vaccination roll-out eventually happens we will have a role to play, assisting with transport and organisational matters.
In order to keep on keeping on, we really need your support, not only as volunteers but also financially. If you have a little cash to spare, we can make good use of it. Click here to help.
