Goodbye, farewell, adieu, so long, old friend! You’ve left me feeling breathless, had me tripping and stumbling because I couldn’t see my feet, steamed up my glasses, and hidden my smiles. But you have also kept me safe (say some experts).
And now what? Perhaps gather them all together, build a pyre and ceremoniously burn them, all the while circling the flames and chanting? Or store them, like the wise virgin, for next time?
Whatever the fate of your masks, if you dump them in the rubbish bin, be sure to snip the earpieces!
Let’s celebrate with bare-faced abandon! How wonderful to see people’s smiles once more! And to hope we never need to wear masks instead of smiles again!
