I’m sitting at my desk pondering Coastal Kindness activities over the last couple of months. It’s been a busy time indeed for our Medical First Responders, and we are delighted to welcome several new responders to the team to help ease the often overwhelming load.
We are indebted to the Seagull Regatta for their very generous and gratefully received donation for training new responders and equipping them with jump bags.
I’d also like to sincerely thank those of you who made donations to Coastal Kindness in memory of Belinda Banfield – your heartfelt contributions will be used to support our Medical First Responders.
We’ve just completed another Mental Health Course which was not only well attended, but very well received too. We need to thank Rowene Johnston for her kindness in offering these courses under the Coastal Kindness umbrella. “The facilitator was excellent. The way she guided the mindfulness exercise was inspiring,” wrote one participant in his note of thanks.
Our monthly Dementia Support Group is still going strong after all these years. Watch out for the last meeting of the year, when the “Sherry-Swigging Singers” will enthusiastically delight everyone with their jovial songs and carols. Jennie Bowen, we thank you for so ably facilitating this group in such a kind and professional way. And Mandy Symons for stepping up to the mark as 2IC.
Our FINAL PUSH to complete the renovations at Marselle Clinic is well underway. To those of you who have made anonymous deposits into our bank account – a huge thank you.
We have been vigorously supported by Periwinkle Trust since the inception of Coastal Kindness. Your recent generous donation towards the clinic upgrade will be wisely used thanks to the eagle eyes of the project managers, Neels Heunis and Doug Swanson.
There are many more thank you’s to come – watch out for the next installment
